Sir Francis Walsingham
Sir Francis Walsingham was Queen Elizabeth I 's most trusted advisor. He was responsible for saving the Queen and England many times. When the Catholics and Philip King of Spain planned an attack against Queen Elizabeth I, he had spies among the Catholics. In the Elizabeth the Golden Age movie, Sir Francis Walsingham was married to his second wife, Ursula, and had a daughter called Mary.

Sir Francis Walsingham 's dilemma
Sir Francis Walsingham did much work in protecting the Queen and England from attacks, notably from Philip King of Spain. He learned of the Enterprise of England, a plot to kill Queen Elizabeth I and managed to lead the way to stop it.
Sir Francis Walsingham also intercepted all letters that Mary Stuart sent to Spain without her knowing. Once the attack on Queen Elizabeth I began with Ramsey, the assassin, trying to shoot and kill the Queen, Mary Stuart was tried for treason.
However, to Sir Francis Walsingham 's surprise, the gun was unloaded. Sir Francis Walsingham tried to ask Jesuit who was also arrested. Sir Francis Walsingham 's brother, William, was also involved in the attack on Queen Elizabeth I. Sir Francis Walsingham needed to know why the gun was not loaded. Instead of hanging William, his brother, Sir Francis Walsingham wanted to send him to France, exiled.
Sir Francis Walsingham & Mary Stuart
After the death of Mary Stuart by execution, Sir Francis Walsingham figured out why the gun was unloaded. Philip of Spain was a God fearing man and he could not declare war without a just cause. While Sir Francis Walsingham intercepted every letter Mary Stuart secretly dispatched to Philip King of Spain but he failed to see that Spain knew that he was reading them. Spain waited for Mary Stuart to write words that by Sir Francis Walsingham 's eyes would mean treason. Then Elizabeth ordered Mary Stuart 's execution, God's anointed Queen.
Sir Francis Walsingham died after the Spanish were defeated.
