Early in 1554, Sir Thomas Wyatt wrote a letter to Lady Elizabeth Tudor, later Queen Elizabeth I. In Sir Thomas Wyatt 's letter to the future Queen Elizabeth the First, he intended to rebel to prevent the Spanish marriage between Queen Mary and King Philip of Spain. Sir Thomas Wyatt and his supporters rose against Queen Mary in order to stop the marriage between Queen Mary and King Philip of Spain. It was believed that the future Queen Elizabeth I was involved in the plot to rebel against Queen Mary with Sir Thomas Wyatt but Lady Elizabeth was smart enough to cover her track well and nothing could be proven.
