Queen Elizabeth I and Thomas Seymour were almost married after Catherine Parr died. Thomas Seymour always had his eyes on Elizabeth, later Queen Elizabeth I, largely because of her status in line for the throne of England. Thomas Seymour was jealous of the young King Edward the 6th and wanted the throne for himself. One way to get closer to the throne was to marry one of the late King Henry VIII 's daughter, Mary or Elizabeth. However, Thomas Seymour married Catherine Parr, the latest wife of the late King Henry the Eight.
